Who is Tarsus? We are a late clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of therapeutic candidates to address diseases with high unmet need.

Tarsus is developing a pipeline of medicines and our lead product candidate, TP-03, is in a Phase 3 and second pivotal trial for the treatment of Demodex blepharitis (DB). TP-03 has the potential to be the first FDA-approved therapeutic and the standard of care for the treatment of Demodex blepharitis, a common lid margin disease that may affect up to 25 million people in the U.S. Significant commercial strategic planning is currently underway for TP-03. We are also developing TP-03 for the treatment of Meibomian Gland Disease, TP-04 for the treatment of Rosacea, and TP-05, an oral, non-vaccine therapeutic for the prevention of Lyme disease.  TP-03 and TP-04 are expected to be in Phase 2a studies in 2022, and TP-05 is currently being studied in a Phase 1b clinical trial.

Reporting into the Chief Commercial Officer, the Vice President, Commercial Strategy and Operations will serve as a key member of the of the Commercial Leadership Team and will integrate commercial strategy and partnership by leading the launch control tower to deliver best in class launch performance. 

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

  • Integrate Commercial Strategy with Partnership across the organization by leading launch control tower to delver Best-In Class Launch Performance
  • Establish l Commercial Analytics and Insights Capabilities through detailed strategic plan including forecasting, and market assessments for commercial, pipeline, and external opportunities
  • Establish and lead Sales Operations and Enablement capabilities by developing sales force sizing, territory mapping, targeting, call planning, and incentive compensation activities.
  • Drive Commercial Data Strategy Oversight and reporting by developing and implementing scalable and effective commercial data warehouse and data management strategies.
  • Lead the data acquisition strategy and development by generating commercial dashboards/reporting and ensuring commercial support with finance through reporting and analysis
  • Drive launch planning, strategies and tactics through impactful insights, analytics, and developing launch KPI’s.
  • Drive Commercial Partnership Across the Organization bydesigning and executing an effective S&OP process with Finance, Supply Chain and related departments
  • Establish quarterly revenue recognition and gross-to-net (GTN) process with Finance and related departments
  • Partner with Business Development team on new opportunity modelling and commercial assessments

 

Factors for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or related field. A master’s degree (MBA) is strongly preferred
  • 15+ years relevant experience in healthcare/pharma, ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
  • Has led and developed a high performing commercial strategy and operations team
  • Have a background in Market Research/Competitive Intelligence (CI)
  • Effective talent management, coaching, persuasion and mentoring skills
  • Established track record with evidence of excellent problem solving, collaboration, leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership, experience translating a corporate vision and strategy into departmental goals and objectives; adjusting plans and tactics to meet changing departmental priorities and circumstances; utilizing market data
  • Proven track record of working with Marketing, Commercial Operations, Market Access, Development, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and objectives
  • Highly adaptable to change, able to quickly pivot and respond to new market information in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and change management skills required, in addition to ability to build strong relationships both vertically and horizontally
  • Proven ability to escalate difficult issues and make tough decisions
  • Experience with HCP/Marketing Analytics, Segmentation, Targeting, Promotion Response Modelling, Marketing Mix Optimization, and Digital Analytics

 

A Few Other Details Worth Mentioning:

  • The position will be based in our beautiful Irvine office, complete with a courtyard, table tennis, snacks and drinks, and occasional catered meals
  • Relocation is provided and remote is an option for people who cannot move to Southern CA.
  • This position reports directly to our Chief Commercial Officer
  • Some travel may be required – less than 20%
